Preprints Policy
JoWaCH Preprints Policy
JoWaCH supports responsible preprint use to accelerate scientific communication and open access.
Pre-submission:
- Authors may post the original manuscript (pre-peer review) on any recognized preprint server at any time.
- Disclosure is encouraged: Include details of preprint posting (server and date) during manuscript submission.
Preprint Servers:
- JoWaCH endorses recognized, non-profit servers like arXiv, bioRxiv, or medRxiv.
- Open licensing is allowed: Choose the license that best suits your needs.
Post-acceptance:
- JoWaCH discourages posting accepted manuscripts due to the swift publication process.
Post-publication on Preprint Servers:
- The final published article must include this text:
"This article has been published in [insert full citation] following peer review and can also be viewed on the journal’s website at [insert DOI]."
Rationale:
This policy promotes responsible preprint use:
- Supports pre-submission posting for early dissemination.
- Discourages redundant post-acceptance posting to avoid confusion.
- Maintains quality and integrity through recognized servers and proper acknowledgement.
- Encourages open access through unrestricted licensing options.
JoWaCH is committed to open science and will adapt its policies to best serve authors and readers.
