JoWaCH is dedicated to ethical publishing practices. We are a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), a leading organization that champions integrity in research and its publication. COPE offers education and resources to editors, publishers, and researchers to ensure the highest ethical standards. Through these resources and collaborative efforts, COPE fosters a culture of ethical conduct throughout academic publishing. Their approach empowers members, encourages open discussion, and promotes responsible research practices.

JoWaCH leverages ORCID, a service that gives researchers a unique and persistent digital identifier (ORCID iD). This ID sets you apart from other researchers and remains under your control. ORCID uses a non-profit, alphanumeric code system to uniquely identify researchers and contributors to scholarly work. You can find an author and their publications through ORCID's website and services. We highly recommend including your ORCID iD in your JoWaCH author profile.

JoWaCH champions open access through Creative Commons (CC) licenses. These free legal tools from a nonprofit organization allow authors to share their research and creativity while retaining copyright. We use CC BY on all JoWaCH articles (check each article for the specific license). This means others can freely access, copy, and reuse the research with proper attribution, following the terms of the chosen CC license. By contrast, assigning copyright to a publisher can restrict access and make it harder or more expensive for others to find and use your valuable work.

JoWaCH articles are discoverable on Google Scholar, a leading search engine for academic research. This freely available tool indexes scholarly publications across various disciplines and formats, including full text and metadata. Inclusion in Google Scholar makes it easier for researchers to find and access the valuable research published in JoWaCH.

JoWaCH assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to all our peer-reviewed articles through Crossref, the official DOI registration agency. DOIs are persistent identifiers that act like unique addresses for scholarly publications. They ensure that JoWaCH articles can be easily and permanently located online, even if the website address changes. This benefits researchers by providing a reliable way to access and cite our publications.

JoWaCH leverages Google Analytics to gain valuable insights about our user base. This web analytics service, offered by Google, tracks and reports website traffic. By analyzing this data, we can understand where our visitors come from and who they are. This knowledge helps us tailor our content and outreach strategies to better serve our audience.

Committed to knowledge sharing, all articles published in the Journal of Women and Child Health (JoWaCH) are freely accessible on Scite.ai. This ensures wider dissemination of valuable research on women's and children's health, fostering global collaboration and advancements in the field.

The name Scilit uses components of the words "scientific" and "literature." This database of scholarly works is developed and maintained by the open access publisher MDPI. Scilit is a comprehensive, free database for researchers in women's and child health, utilizing a novel method to gather data and index scientific materials relevant to the field. Scilit's crawlers extract the latest data from CrossRef and PubMed on a daily basis. This ensures that newly published articles, including those from the Journal of Women and Child Health (JoWaCH), are added to Scilit promptly.
