1. Social Media Strategist (Remote)

Do you have a passion for women's and child health and a knack for social media? Are you eager to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment? Then the Journal of Women and Child Health (JoWaCH) is looking for you!

About the Strategist:

As a Social Media Strategist at JoWaCH, you'll play a vital role in supporting our mission to bridge the gap between research and practice in women's and child health. You'll work closely with our team to develop and implement a strategic social media presence across various platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Curation: Source and schedule engaging, medically-accurate content aligned with JoWaCH's mission. Utilize resources like Adobe Stock Photos to find visually appealing images.
  • Community Management: Interact with our audience on social media platforms, fostering discussions and building a vibrant online community.
  • Content Creation: Craft compelling daily Instagram stories to showcase JoWaCH's content and initiatives.
  • Data Tracking and Analysis: Assist with monitoring social media performance to measure the success of our efforts.
  • Organizational Support: Help maintain and organize social media content calendars and spreadsheets.

Qualifications:

  • Strong social media proficiency with experience using various platforms
  • Familiarity with Google Suite applications (Sheets, Docs, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a self-motivated work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in social media marketing or the healthcare sector
  • Passion for making a positive impact on healthcare through research dissemination

Commitment:

  • This program requires a minimum commitment until the end of August.
  • Ideal work schedule: 15 hours per week, with a minimum of 7 hours required.

2. Customer Support Specialist (Remote)

Are you passionate about research and driven to provide exceptional service? Do you thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment where you can make a real difference? Then the Journal of Women and Child Health (JoWaCH) is seeking a dedicated Customer Support Specialist to join our team!

About the Role:

As a Customer Support Specialist at JoWaCH, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and successful experience for our valued users. You'll become a master of the JoWaCH platform, providing expert guidance and support to authors, reviewers, and academic channel clients throughout the submission, review, and publication process.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Champion User Success: Become a trusted advisor, offering comprehensive support and addressing inquiries related to the JoWaCH platform.
  • Expertise at Your Fingertips: Master the intricacies of JoWaCH's submission, review, and publication workflows, ensuring efficient navigation for all users.
  • Communication is Key: Clearly and effectively address user queries through various channels, fostering a positive and productive experience.
  • Collaboration is King: Partner seamlessly with internal teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize user journeys.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancement and contribute to the growth of the customer support function.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Possesses a minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, support, or experience resolving user inquiries.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, independent environment, consistently exceeding expectations with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to learn and gain in-depth knowledge of academic publishing processes.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, fostering clear and informative interactions.
  • Maintains exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Functions effectively as a self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate (CAD $30-$45 based on experience)
  • Flexible remote work schedule (Monday-Friday, 20 hours/week with potential for expansion to 40 hours)
